Film Night July 5th 2012

A lovely evening was had by all who attended the MU film night.
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is a must see, feel good film with an all star cast. Set in a retirement resort in India this rom-com follows the fortunes of seven gently aging Brits. Refreshments were included in the admission price and a very entertaining evening ensued.
Chish and Fips June 28th 2012

Fish and Chip Supper
Another mad success for the Mother's Union.
A very well attended evening where everyone had delicious fish and chips or chicken and chips.
The winning raffle numbers were drawn by the lovely Caroline, ably assisted by Emlyn, and had some worthwhile prizes among which was an unusual MU plant pot.
Malcolm provided a very cleverly arranged slideshow of pictures taken during the MU Jubilee Party (May 2012)and of the St Trinians Evening (November 2011).

Mother's Union Jubilee Party May 31st 2012

A lovely evening was had by all who attended.
Everybody had great fun dressing up in red, white and blue and looked splendid.
The food was delicious and included such old favouries as paste or spam sandwiches. Guests were able to join in with activities which were both exciting- horse racing and fun- Pass the Parcel. There was a raffle and prizes galore most of which were cleverly based on the Jubilee theme.
The entertainment was excellent and covered a wide variety of acts which ranged from The Queen's Speech by Marie to song and dance by Maurice Chevalier and Leslie Caron aka Maisie and Mary , to 'a chat' from the inestimable Mrs Hyacinth Bouquet declaimed ( no other word for it) by Eunice, to a diatribe on life when Elizabeth acceded to the throne by Kath Victor.
The MU choir was well received and gave us a selection of songs which were both funny and poignant.
Well done to all who helped to make the evening such a great success!
God Bless the Queen!
